Naomi's not exactly reading on grade level yet. But we're working together every day, and there are two things that encourage me. She pays close attention to punctuation, and her little-girl voice lifts and falls with great expression. She also has perfect comprehension of everything she reads--even when I'm afraid it's been so long since the beginning of the sentence that she might have forgotten, she can tell me exactly what's going on. She even infuses sometimes dry stories with her great sense of humor. I love it.
